Chaz Aracil is a fashion designer and visual artist residing in Houston, Texas. Chaz explores multiple avenues of artistic expression through illustration, painting, collage, projection, film, photography, performance, fashion, dance and music. Through out their trans journey, Chaz has birthed their performance identity Aza, where they have now become both the creator and a muse of their own art. Inspired by their Mexican American roots, culture and the natural world around them, Chaz consistently showcases an array of vibrant colors, hues, textures and ecological elements throughout their work. Chaz graduated with a BFA in Fashion Design from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Chaz has shown their work at New York Fashion Week, Houston Fashion Week, Providence Style Week, MIT Media Lab, Newport Art Museum and overseas at Gropius Bau Art Museum, Berlin Alternative Fashion Week and Paris Queer Week as well. Their work has also been featured in publications such as Vogue, Teen Vogue, Women’s Wear Daily, I-D, The Boston globe, Curated By Girls, Kaltblut and Hart Magazine. Chaz Aracil is about to embark on new creative paths with bringing their eccentric concepts to life through their immersive visual art, performance and design.
